Danielle and Christopher celebrated their September wedding at Davenport House with an elegant colour scheme, fabulous menu, live entertainment and, of course… romance!
Looking for their dream wedding venue in Shropshire, Danielle and Christopher fell in love with Davenport House on their first visit.
“It was so elegant and classic. We loved the décor, the beautiful chandeliers, the Drawing Room, the gardens and the fact that our closest friends and family could stay overnight. We loved everything!” – Danielle
Setting a late-summer wedding date, they started to plan their special day.
Choosing a romantic colour palette of gold and dusky rose, the happy couple adorned Davenport House with an array of beautiful candles and flowers.
Lanterns sat on the steps leading up to the house with tea-lights lining the staircase inside. On the tables, gold candelabra were filled with ivory and pink roses and the urns and fireplaces were also dressed with roses, foliage and pillar candles.
“I loved the look of the ivory, purples, pinks and golds. It was such a romantic feel.”
The beautiful bride wore a Stella York gown with pretty lace and a long train.
“When I tried it on, I could tell it was just perfect. I customised the shoulders so they fell slightly for a more elegant look.” – Danielle
Danielle completed the look with a pearly bracelet from Tiffany & Co, a Tiffany necklace and heart-shaped diamond earrings. Her shoes were from Jimmy Choo and she wore a bespoke floral crown.
Christopher looked the part in a suit by Marc Darcy with brown brogues and the bridesmaids were stunning in dresses from Little Mistress with lace to match the lace on Danielle’s dress.
Following their romantic civil ceremony, welcome drinks were served alongside a selection of delicious canapés. A string quartet delighted the newlyweds and their guests throughout the ceremony and until the wedding breakfast.
Moving in to dine, a Scotch egg was followed by beef and, for pudding, a delicious trio of desserts.
“The main course was incredible – the best food we’ve eaten, especially at a wedding!” – Danielle
As day turned to evening, a DJ played for the first dance – ‘How Long Will I Love You’ by Ellie Goulding. A live band called Fruit Machine then filled the dance floor for the evening party.
“We chose wood fired pizza for our evening food, cooked freshly outside. There was a vegetarian goat’s cheese option with wild rocket or pepperoni.”
“My entrance! Greeting my mum at the bottom of the stairs, seeing all my friends and family and most importantly my husband looking back at me as I walked towards him and the look on his face. I’ll treasure that look forever.”
